Cabin in the Woods

Hello. Brian here.

Here is what we did over MLK weekend.

We rented a cabin about 2 1/2 hours northeast of here with Melanie and Greg.

This is what the cabin looked like.

Sunday we went skiing/snowboarding at Sunrise Ski Resort. It's pretty crazy how diverse Arizona is. We left the desert and drove a little north and landed in snow. Pretty cool. The ski resort is on an Indian reservation. It's a pretty big place. It had 6 ski lifts and a good assortment of green circles, blue squares, and black diamonds. Unfortunately there were no pink hearts, yellow moons, orange stars, green clovers, blue diamonds, purple horse shoes, or red balloons. The price was reasonable, and it wasn't that crowded. The weather was nice. Everything was great, except the service. It seems that the Indians live by a different set of customer service rules. They do things their own way, at their own pace, and they don't care if you like it or not. It took us about 30 minutes to rent our skis/snowboards. It took another 30 minutes to get our lift tickets. When we stopped for lunch at the mountain top lodge, it took about an hour to get our food. While waiting in line for the food, they ran out of hamburgers, hot dogs, salad, and pasta. At one point they brought out a pizza and people practically stampeded over each other to get a slice. In the end, we accepted their way of doing things and had a pretty good day.

They had to eat the pizza before you Americans came and took it away from them without cause or reason or right.
