New Family Members

Neither of us was ready for a new cat. It has not been that long since we had to say goodbye to Tux, and we miss him terribly. However, here we are now with two new kittens.

Our friends Jan and Joe had a cat show up at their house at almost the same moment that Joe's sister passed away. They knew they would keep that cat. However, she seemed to be nursing so they needed to find the babies. It took several days but finally the mom kitty led them to the babies.

They caught all 5 babies and they kept them in their bathroom. We went by to see them and OMG they were so so cute. How could we not give one of these little babies a home.

I was immediately taken by the tortie. She was so small and cute, we said yes to her immediately. She became Sookie. Having just one kitten was great but I started to think about how lonely she would be and how sad to be taken from her family. So....I began asking Brian about taking two.

Sookie

Brian declared he was a 3 cat person and did not think 4 was right and that we would be the crazy cat people. Maybe we would. I told him to take a week and think about it. At the end of the week, with much hesitation, he agreed.

We went back to Jan and Joe's to decide who we would adopt. It was very difficult. They were all so cute and had different personalities. We settled on the one that was unlike any of our other cats. He became Murray.

Now it has been nearly a week and we love them very much. They purr when we pet them and they seem much more comfortably with us. We have had them in a bedroom this whole time getting comfortable with the smells and us and the other cats.

Tonight we opened the door and let them roam. Dewey hissed and ran away but Toby followed them around the room. It seems to be going well. I currently have 4 cats running around my house. This is nuts!

You are the crazy cat people, no matter what you say or how you try to explain it. Crazy. Cat. People.
