The neverending project list

Now that projects 1-4 are complete, well almost complete, we have moved onto projects 5 and 6. The river rock project is the only one that is not complete, but it is darn close.

Project 5 consisted of us laying pavers next to the patio to make a small area for the grill. We wanted to get the grill off the patio so that we could use that area to hang a swing or something. It is one of 2 shaded areas in our backyard. Those, as you can imagine, are precious places. We put up a gazebo last Spring but we cant hang anything from there. We use it for dining outdoors. The other shaded area is right off the house as you go outside. It will hold a swing, or in our case air chairs, just fine.

So Saturday we went to Lowes and bought pavers and sand. We wanted to do this area right since the grill will be on it and Brian will be standing on it when we have grillin parties. Oh yeah, we never have those.

Anyway, we decided that while we were there we would order our door that Brian will be installing so you can go from the pool to the bathroom without going through the whole house. Awesome! That is project 6.

I raked and shoveled the rocks out of the way so that we could level the area out and put sand down. We really had no idea what we were doing, but we had seen it done so many times on TV how could we screw this up. One by one Brian poured sand, leveled and packed. It went really well and he was able to finish in a few hours.

I think it looks fantastic and we ordered our chairs that night. Its going to be a great place to sit and have a beer and read a book or nap.

Here is where we are putting the door.

It should be done by the end of the month. Then we are going to have sweet pool parties. Oh wait, we only have 2 friends here. Well then, please, you people need to come out here and visit. PLEASE!
