Yesterday Brian and I decided to go on a road trip. We rarely travel south of Tucson and yet there are very cool things to be seen down there. So we decided to go to Bisbee. It is an old mining town that is about 200 miles south of Phoenix. In this town we heard you could see a man who had a dog that had a cat on its back that had a mouse on its back. This was something to see.
We did not see that man but we did see an interesting little town build on the sides of a canyon. We had lunch here and walked along the streets and stairs. There is not too much to do here except see it, shop, and eat. The journey here was beautiful, as usual, as the landscape constantly changes in this state.
After we left Bisbee, we headed to San Pedro River Conservation Area. I had heard a lot of talk about this area. It is suppose to be a mecca for bird watching. We walked to the river, which was tucked among huge cottonwood trees. We heard a lot of bullfrogs calling, saw tons of Yellow Warblers, and enjoyed the shade of the big trees. It was a nice little area.
After the river stop we were on to Tombstone. Everyone has heard of Tombstone, its way famous. To drive through it though, it makes you wonder what made people gather at that location and start a mining town. The main area of attraction is off the main road and you would miss the town if you blinked for too long.
The main attraction is a strip of buildings that now house stores, saloons and restaurants, all celebrating the old west. There are several gun fight shows too, but we did not stay to see those.

Our next stop was Tucson for dinner. Tucson has the best vegan food in the state and when I am there I want to eat it all. I had spinach ravioli with alfredo sauce and garlic bread and Brian had fried chicken with stuffing and mashed potatoes. It was all vegan and oh my goodness it was so so good.
Road trips around Arizona are always awesome because this state just has so many interesting little nooks and crannies. We are celebrating our 4 years in AZ right now too. 4 years ago we moved our entire lives out here. We love it so much and we both really feel like this is home.
