We stayed with Brian's sister, Dawn. It was nice to get out of the state for the weekend. We haven't been to Florida in about a year and a half so it was nice to get back to visit.
We went to the beach of course and invited Bill and Ali to join us. We spent the afternoon baking in the sun and kayaking.
After the beach we headed back to Dawns. There waiting was a surprise party for Brian's birthday. Some of Sean's family came by for it and of course Bill and Ali were in on it too. He got lots of great stuff.
Sunday, Brian's actual birthday, we spent the day wandering St. Petersburg. We stopped by a winery, which made yummy fruity wines. We also followed some advice from the T's and ate lunch at Atlanta Bread Co. We were not impressed. They ran out of the only soup I could eat, charged Dawn too much and put parmesean cheese on Sean's Greek salad. Panera is still the best!
Brian is still enjoying his birthday week. We have decided that as long as the cards roll in, its still your birthday. I have been enjoying birthday weeks for years.
We tried to do a little caching in Florida too. At one point we were barely away from the beach, in some wooded area, and we were miserable. Sweat poured from our bodies, mosquitoes were on the attack, and it must have been 10 degrees hotter in there. I don't think we will visit Florida again in the summer months. Although it made me appreciate the dry heat even more when we got back.

If you've been enjoying birthday weeks for years, wouldn't they cease being birthday weeks, and evolve into birthday years, birthday decades, birthday eras, etc.?

also, panera is definitely better than atlanta bread company. there's no question about it.
