The temperatures here haven't been over 100 degrees since last Wednesday. We have been trying to take full advantage of the cooler evenings by getting outside. Last night we decided to go on a short hike up North Mountain. It is about 15 minutes from us and is a mile and half climb up to the top. Since we had never been there we managed to not figure out which parking lot we needed to start in until after the sun set. Oh well. It was still worth the hike, there were great views from the top. It was dark by the time we got to the bottom and there were still people headed up the trail. Its a pretty good haul up to the top, I think doing it at night would be good because then you cant see how much more you have to go. Anyway here are some photos from the trail, enjoy!

Oh.... the walk through went well yesterday. The agent just called to tell me the house is officially ours and at 5 pm we will meet him to get the keys. We love the house, but being there yesterday we both felt nervous and uneasy. You always hope you have made the right choice, which we do think we did. We are nervous about the pool and the irrigation system. We have never had either of these things. I had a pool growing up but my dad did all the work (thanks dad). We are going to pool school next week, after that I think we will be fine.

The house has to be a better choice than the one you made for the apartment, right? That's some glass-half-full thinking for you.

Just so you know, you should be very glad you are there and not here. Today tomorrow and thurs it's supposed to be in the 100s and with heat index up to 115. Hmm, maybe I should move to Phoenix to get away from the heat...
Someone told me that the water in pools can turn into llama blood if you leave it unattended for too long. Is that true?
